Late Summer Patina gives clean digital footage the warmth and colour separation of a summer remembered through time. Copper-toned skin sits against sun-aged olive greens, cream highlights, tarnished gold, brick reds and quiet verdigris blues.

Its visual world moves between late-August Europe and early-1990s New York: sun-warmed stone, Brooklyn brownstones, faded storefronts, rooftop evenings and the oxidized copper of the Statue of Liberty. The result feels nostalgic and lived-in, but still open, youthful and sunlit—never gloomy or distressed.

The DCTL brings the input transform and complete Late Summer Patina look together in one Resolve effect. Select the profile entering the node, then adjust Look Strength to suit the footage.

Instead of selecting separate camera-specific LUT files or manually combining a technical transform with a creative LUT, the DCTL normalizes the selected input before applying the finished look—all inside a single node.

Colour shaped by memory and patina

Late Summer Patina is built around the relationship between copper before and after oxidation. Warm skin, brick and tarnished gold are held apart from Liberty green, olive and quiet cyan, creating a distinctive warm-cool palette without becoming a conventional orange-and-teal look.

Dense photographic midtones give the image weight, while controlled highlights and readable dark detail keep the grade open and inviting. It feels aged by warmth and memory rather than damaged by time: no washed black floor, artificial distress or heavy retro effect.

This is an original Offwhitecolor colour design. Early-1990s photography is part of its visual memory, but Late Summer Patina is not an exact emulation of one specific film stock, print process or laboratory pipeline.

Simple one-node workflow

2. Select the correct input profile.

3. Adjust Look Strength.

4. Apply any final shot matching or finishing adjustments after the look.

The DCTL produces a finished SDR Rec.709 Gamma 2.4 image. No additional Rec.709 output transform should be placed after it.
