One look. Multiple camera pipelines. One simple workflow.

Moody Teal & Dust builds a cool teal-cyan environment around dusty warm neutrals, separated skin tones, and dense but readable shadows. Inspired by overcast skies, worn denim, and faded urban textures, it brings a quiet, lived-in atmosphere to documentary work, urban portraits, ambient b-roll, and understated narrative scenes.

The DCTL brings the complete look family into one Resolve effect. Select your camera profile or working color space, choose one of three curated variations, and adjust the Look Strength—all inside a single node.

Instead of manually combining technical transforms with separate camera-specific LUTs, the DCTL normalizes the selected input before applying the creative look. This creates a faster and more consistent workflow across supported cameras.

Three curated variations

Standard

The defining Moody Teal & Dust grade: cool teal shadows, dusty neutrals, controlled saturation, and natural contrast.

Warm

Introduces a gentle warmth into the midtones and highlights while preserving the cooler environmental palette.

Faded

Reduces contrast, softens saturation, and lifts the shadows for a quieter, more nostalgic finish.

Adjustable Look Strength

The LUT Strength control blends between a neutral Rec.709 conversion and the selected creative grade.

  • 0% — neutral Rec.709 Gamma 2.4 output

  • 100% — the complete selected look

  • Any value in between — a controlled, predictable balance

The creative character and tonal response remain connected, preserving the original intent of the grade at full strength.

Built for a practical grading workflow

  1. Balance exposure and white balance before the DCTL.

  2. Select the correct Input Color Space.

  3. Choose Standard, Warm, or Faded.

  4. Set the Look Strength.

  5. Continue with any final adjustments after the look.

The DCTL produces a finished SDR Rec.709 Gamma 2.4 output. No additional Rec.709 output transform should be placed after it.

FAQ

Do I need DaVinci Resolve Studio?

Yes. DCTL effects require DaVinci Resolve Studio and are not supported in the free version of Resolve.

What is included?

You receive one Moody Teal & Dust DCTL containing three integrated looks: Standard, Warm, and Faded. No separate .cube LUTs are included.

Does the DCTL replace a Color Space Transform?

Yes. Select the exact camera or working-space profile entering the node. The DCTL handles the input transform and produces a finished SDR Rec.709 Gamma 2.4 image.

Where should I place the DCTL in my node tree?

Correct exposure and white balance before the DCTL. Apply any final shot matching or finishing adjustments after it. Do not add another Rec.709 output transform after the DCTL.

Can I adjust the intensity of the look?

Yes. Look Strength blends between a neutral Rec.709 Gamma 2.4 conversion at 0% and the complete selected look at 100%.

Can I use it with Rec.709 footage?

Yes. Select Rec.709 Gamma 2.4 as the input profile. Original log or scene-referred footage provides more grading latitude and the most accurate color response.

Can I use it in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or CapCut?

No. This product is a DCTL developed exclusively for DaVinci Resolve Studio.
