OW Essentials No.05 – Mintprint 2-Strip Lightroom Preset

Is Mintprint a neutral film preset?
No. Mintprint is intentionally stylised. It shifts whites, foliage and cooler surroundings towards mint and cyan while allowing reds, oranges and skin to remain comparatively warmer.

Is it an exact reproduction of two-strip Technicolor?
No. It is a modern interpretation of the limited palette and colour separation associated with early two-colour cinema processes. It does not reproduce a specific historical print, film stock or laboratory process.

How does the preset affect skin?
Skin is generally separated from the cooler mint and cyan surroundings through a warmer bias. The exact result depends on camera profile, lighting and white balance, so skin may still require a final adjustment.

Which applications can I use it in?
Mintprint is supplied as one XMP preset for Adobe Lightroom, Lightroom Classic and Adobe Camera Raw. It can be used in Lightroom Mobile after importing and syncing through Adobe Lightroom.

Do I need a camera-specific version?
No. There is one preset download rather than separate camera versions. Your Adobe camera profile and starting file will still influence the final colour.

Does it work with RAW and JPEG photographs?
Yes. RAW files are recommended because the strong colour separation leaves more reason to refine white balance, exposure and individual colours. JPEG and TIFF files are supported but offer less adjustment latitude.

Can I make the look less intense?
Yes. Use the preset Amount control where supported, or adjust saturation, contrast, shadows and colour settings after applying it. Mintprint remains an editable starting point.

Can I use it across a complete photography set?
Yes, when the photographs share similar lighting. Apply it to a representative image, refine the result and then synchronise that group. Daylight, interiors and mixed-light photographs should be treated separately.

Will my photographs look exactly like the examples?
Not exactly. Camera profile, lighting, exposure, white balance and subject colour all affect the result. The gallery demonstrates the intended colour direction rather than guaranteeing an identical result on every photograph.

Is this the same as the Mintprint LUT?
It follows the same two-strip-inspired direction but is rebuilt for photography. The preset uses editable Lightroom and Camera Raw controls; the LUT is designed for motion and colour-grading software.
