A soft, airy LUT inspired by Fuji 400H and pastel wedding photography, with gentle contrast, natural skin and delicate blue-green and rose colour shifts.

PASTEL COLOUR WITHOUT LOSING STRUCTURE

Pastel Dream is designed for footage that should feel light, romantic and polished without becoming washed out. Inspired by the colour language of Fuji 400H and contemporary pastel wedding photography, it combines airy highlights and softened contrast with delicate shifts through the cooler parts of the palette.

Greens and cooler surroundings move towards soft mint and blue-green, while muted rose and lavender accents bring gentle variation to the midtones. Skin remains comparatively natural and enough black point is retained to keep the image grounded.

Three variations allow the look to move from clean and balanced to more faded or distinctly green-toned, while maintaining the same soft pastel direction.

What you will notice

  • Airy highlights with a soft tonal finish

  • Gentler contrast without completely removing the black point

  • Fresh, muted greens and subtle blue-green accents

  • Delicate rose and lavender colour through the midtones

  • Natural-looking skin against the cooler pastel palette

  • Three variations for different levels of fade and green bias

  • A consistent creative direction across the supported camera profiles

How it was designed

Pastel Dream creates its character through selective colour shaping and a softened contrast curve rather than applying a uniform pastel wash across the image. This allows lighter surfaces, foliage, skin and cooler surroundings to retain useful separation.

The look is inspired by Fuji 400H and the palette associated with pastel wedding photography. It is not a measured reproduction of a specific film stock, negative or laboratory process.

Standard delivers the main Pastel Dream balance. Faded Fuji introduces a softer, more faded tonal finish, while Green Tone adds a stronger green bias through foliage and cooler parts of the image.

Each camera-specific version is designed for direct use with its stated log profile, creating a consistent version of the look across different camera systems.

FAQ

Is Pastel Dream an exact Fuji 400H emulation?

No. The look is inspired by the soft contrast and pastel colour language associated with Fuji 400H and contemporary wedding photography. It is not a measured reproduction of the original film stock or a specific laboratory process.

What is the difference between the three versions?

Standard delivers the main Pastel Dream colour and contrast balance. Faded Fuji uses a softer, more faded tonal treatment. Green Tone introduces a stronger green bias, particularly through foliage and cooler areas.

Does the LUT make underexposed footage brighter?

No. Pastel Dream creates an airy tonal finish, but it cannot replace correct exposure or recover missing image information. Balance exposure and white balance before applying the LUT.

How does the look affect skin tones?

Skin remains comparatively natural against the cooler mint, blue-green and pastel surroundings. Because lighting and camera exposure still affect the result, make any necessary shot-level corrections after applying the LUT.

Can I use Pastel Dream indoors?

Yes. It can be used indoors, although its pastel colour separation is most apparent in soft daylight, lighter environments and scenes containing foliage or muted colour surfaces. Correct strong mixed lighting before applying the LUT.

Can I apply the LUT directly to log footage?

Yes. Each camera-specific version is designed for direct use with its stated log profile.

Which LUT file should I use?

Choose the file that exactly matches the camera and log profile used to record your footage. Versions for all supported camera systems are included in the download.

What is the difference between the x65 and x33 versions?

Both contain the same look. The x65 version provides a higher-resolution transform for colour grading, while the x33 version is included for monitoring and wider software or hardware compatibility.

Does the LUT include grain, halation or glow?

No. A .cube LUT changes colour and tone. Spatial effects such as grain, halation, bloom and gate weave need to be added separately.

Can I reduce the strength of the look?

Yes. Reduce the LUT intensity using node key output, effect opacity or the equivalent mixing control in your editing software.
