Is Mintprint an exact reproduction of two-strip Technicolor?

No. Mintprint is a modern interpretation of the limited palette and colour separation associated with early two-colour cinema. It does not reproduce a specific historical print, film stock or laboratory process.

Is Mintprint a neutral everyday look?

No. Mintprint is intentionally stylised. It creates a pronounced separation between mint-and-cyan surroundings and comparatively warmer reds, oranges and skin.

What is the difference between Standard and Soft?

Standard delivers the strongest split-toning, colour separation and contrast. Soft retains the same palette with gentler contrast and smoother tonal transitions.

How does the look affect skin tones?

Skin remains comparatively warm against the cooler mint and cyan surroundings. Because this is a strong creative treatment, balance exposure and white balance before applying the LUT and make any necessary shot-level adjustments afterwards.

Which LUT file should I use?

Choose the file that exactly matches the camera and log profile used to record your footage. Versions for all supported camera systems are included in the download.

Can I apply the LUT directly to log footage?

Yes. Each camera-specific version is designed for direct use with its stated log profile.

What is the difference between the x65 and x33 versions?

Both contain the same look. The x65 version provides a higher-resolution transform for colour grading, while the x33 version is included for monitoring and wider software or hardware compatibility.

Does the LUT include grain or halation?

No. A .cube LUT changes colour and tone. Spatial effects such as grain, halation and gate weave need to be added separately.

Can I reduce the strength of the look?

Yes. Reduce the LUT intensity using node key output, effect opacity or the equivalent mixing control in your editing software.

TWO-STRIP COLOUR, REWORKED FOR MOTION

Mintprint is built for footage that should feel intentionally designed rather than neutrally reproduced. It reinterprets the limited palette and colour separation associated with early two-colour cinema as a contemporary motion look.

Whites, foliage and cooler surroundings move towards mint and cyan, while reds, oranges and skin retain a comparatively warmer bias. Dusty pink and coral midtones combine with deeper teal-toned shadows to create a graphic split between warm and cool colour families.

The result is stylised and immediately recognisable. Standard delivers the full colour separation and contrast of the look, while Soft retains the same palette with gentler contrast and smoother tonal transitions.
