What kind of look does Nostalgic Film create?

Nostalgic Film creates a warm, film-inspired look with rich blacks, warm highlights and a cohesive combination of golden amber and turquoise tones.

Is this an exact Kodak film emulation?

No. Nostalgic Film is a creative interpretation inspired by the colour character associated with classic Kodak imagery. It does not reproduce one specific film stock, laboratory process or film scan.

Is this an official Kodak product?

No. Nostalgic Film was independently developed by Offwhitecolor and is not affiliated with, licensed by or endorsed by Kodak.

Which applications can I use the preset in?

The preset is supplied as an XMP file for Adobe Lightroom, Lightroom Classic and Adobe Camera Raw. It can be used in Lightroom Mobile after importing and syncing it through Adobe Lightroom.

Do I need a camera-specific version?

No. There is one preset rather than separate camera versions. Your Adobe camera profile, lighting, exposure and white balance will still influence the final colour.

Does it work with RAW and JPEG photographs?

Yes. RAW files are recommended because they offer more latitude for adjusting exposure, white balance, highlights, shadows and colour. JPEG and TIFF files are supported but offer less flexibility.

What should I adjust after applying the preset?

Start with exposure and white balance. These two adjustments usually have the greatest influence on how the preset interacts with an individual photograph.

Can I reduce the intensity of the look?

Yes. Use Lightroom’s preset Amount control where supported, or refine the individual colour and tonal settings after applying the preset.

Can I use it across a complete photography set?

Yes, particularly when the photographs share similar lighting. Apply the preset to a representative image, refine exposure and white balance, and then synchronise those adjustments across the group.

Is this the same as the Nostalgic Film LUT?

It follows the same creative colour direction, but this version is formatted for Adobe Lightroom and Camera Raw. The LUT version is designed for video and colour-grading software.

Will my photographs look exactly like the examples?

Not exactly. Camera profile, lighting, exposure, white balance and the colours present in the original photograph all influence the result. The gallery demonstrates the intended colour direction.
